Members Caring About Members

I had the privilege on Thursday, May 6th to help keep our church open for the National Day of Prayer. During the day I had the opportunity to talk with one of our Sunday School members who proceeded to inform me that they had moved their membership to a sister PBA church. We discussed the why's and the main reason given was after missing for several Sundays, no one from his Sunday School Class took the time to make contact as to the reasons for the absences. I would encourage each of our classes to be very mindful of each member in our fellowship and when someone is absent to take a few moments to make a follow-up contact. Sometimes we all need to be missed.

God Bless,

Welcome, Stewardship and Ivy All Teachers meeting May 16th

Welcome to the first post of the Ivy Sunday School Blog. Let me know your thoughts regarding this use of technology to enhance our communications through out Sunday School.

Stewardship - a topic we don't talk about often enough, but so very crucial for Ivy to continue the Lord's work. God has us on a path to make a huge difference in Coliseum Central and as we respond God will be glorified. I would ask each of you be very mindful of opportunities you have to remind our folks regarding giving and stewardship. Many times while doing our routine things, we overlook golden opportunities to remind us of the sacrifice our Lord made for us and thus we can give just a little bit more. This Sunday's lesson is titled "How Do You Contribute?" and lends itself to discuss the many ways available for us to give our love offerings back to our Lord and Savior. God has blessed us so very much and as we cheerfully give of out time, talents, and our finances, he will be pleased. As Jesus said the fields are ripe with harvest and the laborers few. Let's see if each of us can give just a little more.

We will be holding a one hour all teacher/leader meeting after morning worship on Sunday, May 16th in the Fellowship Hall. We will begin with a light lunch and I have asked Michelle our webmaster to give some pointers regarding ways we can take better advantage of our website in Sunday School. We will begin at 12:30 PM and adjourn at 1:30 PM. Please help pass the word. All teachers, facilitators, outreach leaders and anyone interested in our Sunday School.

God Bless,
